Who is Susan Gunn?

For more than 30 years, I’ve helped healthcare professionals protect what they’ve worked so hard to build.

As a Certified Fraud Examiner, consultant, author, and speaker, I’ve spent my career helping practice owners strengthen financial oversight, improve accountability, and navigate some of the most difficult challenges they will ever face.

But my work has never really been about numbers.

It’s about people.

It’s about trust.

It’s about leadership.

And it’s about the choices we make every day when no one is watching.

Over the years, I’ve coached thousands of healthcare professionals, investigated embezzlement cases ranging from hundreds of dollars to more than a million, written 48 books, and spoken to audiences across the country on ethics, accountability, leadership, financial oversight, and fraud prevention.

What I’ve learned is simple:

People rarely remember spreadsheets.

They remember stories.

That’s why my presentations, books, and consulting work are built around real-life experiences and practical lessons people can apply immediately. Whether I’m helping a doctor uncover a trusted employee’s theft, teaching future dentists about ethics, or guiding a practice owner through stronger financial systems, my goal is always the same:

More Than a Career

I believe learning never stops.

I am an author, speaker, investigator, teacher, lifelong learner, and unapologetic storyteller.

I’m fascinated by people, history, ethics, family stories, and the decisions that shape our lives.

I believe integrity matters.

I believe accountability matters.

I believe we are each part of the problem or part of the solution.

And I believe some of life’s greatest lessons come from listening carefully to the stories of others.

When I’m Not Working

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me researching family history, writing, spending time with lifelong friends, planning my next big adventure, attending a play, enjoying a concert, or following the sports and events that bring people together—from the World Cup to US Open to whatever experience finds its way onto my bucket list next. And that bucket list is pretty long.

After all these years, I’m still curious.

Still learning.

Still looking for Neverland.

There are plenty of experts.
