This is the last month QuickBooks Desktop will be sold to NEW CUSTOMERS.
If you are a current subscriber, this does not pertain to you. No NEW subscriptions will be sold after September 30, 2024.
According to an Intuit post, “We will continue to provide security updates, product updates, and support for existing subscribers.”
If you want to purchase or convert back to QuickBooks Desktop, it can be purchased prior to September 30, 2024 for $649 per year by contacting Sales at 1-800-601-4093 or buy online at https://quickbooks.intuit.com/email/final-desktop-plus-sale/.
These past few months I have heard so much speculation, primarily being spread by those that benefit from your practice being on QuickBooks Online: accountants, bookkeepers, KPI (key performance indicators) software companies, additional software add-ons, et al. Those rumors are intentionally misleading. Intuit has not stated they are killing the desktop software.
Maybe I watch to many crime shows because the first question I ask is who profits or benefits?
However, it may be that your lifestyle benefits from using an online product. I completely understand. As well as multiple individuals needing access. But, there are other means to access a file at anytime, set up by an IT company, which is an extremely cost effective means, as experienced by many of my clients.
I am not going to beat the online QB horse again. I always laugh when someone calls and says, “your opinion of QuickBooks Online is well known, but…..” Guess what – it hasn’t changed. I have written plenty about it and you can read it all here on my website.
Primarily I wanted to remind you that you have until the end of this month for NEW subscribers. And, make sure that your credit card information is up to date in the Intuit billing window. This is not actually in QuickBooks, but the Intuit window that occasionally requires a login.
